[frowns concern at that, then gathers up the cooler by Wei Wuxian's door and carries it to his own room instead, holding the door open for the fox]

[gives him a curious look, but then trots into his room easily enough]

[he'll close the door behind him! most of the way. he leaves it cracked open for the fox; it can make its own decision whether it wants to close it or leave the escape open

he also arranges a glass of water AND the milkshake on the floor next to the dresser for fox consumption, carefully neat]

[the fox skips closing the door in favor of sticking its nose in the water glass immediately, so good read on the signs there, Lan Wangji]

[he'll refill the water glass when the fox is done...]

[drinks a little more of the second glass and then attacks the milkshake...]

[when he finishes he'll find that Lan Wangji is sitting quietly on his bed, still softly watching]

[goes to put both front paws on his foot, looking up at him]

[pats the bed next to him, his quiet expression not reflecting how completely wildly daring he feels doing this except for in the faint crinkling of his eyebrows]

[amazingly, Wei Wuxian only considers for a second before trying to make the jump up

he doesn't quite get there, though, left scrabbling partway up the side of the mattress]

he doesn't struggle like the human Wei Wuxian would, though, just shivers all over when he's caught and stares at Lan Wangji with big eyes]

[as soon as he got the little fox cuddled in securely against his chest and remembered himself he loosened his grip, anyway; it could wiggle free if it panicked]
