[he's indicating one of the actual booths, not eating on counter stools in the kitchen; it will give them a minute of separation and also a place for Wei Wuxian to physically put his head on the table for a second, he is thinking]

[he looks up at the board Wei Wuxian helped Jiang Yanli with earlier in the day to double check where the pancakes will be and goes to get pancakes. he also makes them both milkshakes :X

hesitates a little when he reenters the dining area, visually checking on Wei Wuxian again]

[the pancakes have meat and shrimp in them, not just green onion! a balanced diet. he does also spot some telltale spice speckles, though they're not violently red

Wei Wuxian has his arms folded on the table and his chin on them]

[Lan Wangji carefully slides into the booth next to him and puts the tray in the middle of the table, not crowding him, before taking his own plate]

[Wei Wuxian's tail is a safety barrier between them and he can probably escape over the back of the booth if he really wants to, it's fine, it's fine, he's not being trapped in here, it's fine

looks sidelong at him again before taking a pancake, nibbling on it without lifting his head from the table]

[yeah Lan Wangji probably picked a booth where you can get out from either side for just that reason '-'a

he sits up very straight and eats a pancake too, eyeing Wei Wuxian back here and there but in a soft non-expectant way. he does not get on his case about posture.]

[the pancakes are mildly spicy. a good excuse to stay quiet for a bit]

[he does not actually eat a lot, though he does drink the milkshake ._.

[looks down at his empty plate for a moment, trying to think through how to say it... he washed off his hands and reapplied his bandage when he came in and started to handle food, so at least they're clean now.]

Not tasks to accomplish. Rather, thoughts in my mind. For the most part.
