[sighs and just... stays like that for a while...
he seems pretty relaxed, for Lan Wangji. his breathing and heartbeat are deep and even. his eyes are half closed. maybe petting foxes is good for his blood pressure.

when he does eventually get up, he doesn't actually put the fox down, just
settles it in the crook of his arm
and rises slowly]
